Wow! Back skiing a Big Mountain for the first time in almost two years!
Before I start…
You need two doses of vaccine and need proof to get across the border
You need a negative PCR test that was taken less than 72 hours before crossing the border
You need the Arrive Canada App, and need to upload your vaccine records, your passport or enhanced DL, and proof of new negative test.I also keep hard copies with me and phone screen shots.
Once in Canada you will need to show the vaccine cards to get inside nearly anywhere I want to go - Bars, Restaurants…
Masking is stricter than anywhere in the states.
If you are an anti-anything - You cant go.
You can easily look up the per capita death rate in Canada (from Covid) VS the US.
I heard the weekend was a sheet of ice, but much of the mountain was open. Monday was a powder day with much more snow in the Alpine than where new snow is measured. Tuesday was variable on the groomers, depending on everything from raincrust level, snow making, elevation…Visibility up top was bad all day, but the snow was good up there, and there were no winds. I skied Harmony 3
times (with one Saddle to Whistler Village lap) and that was pretty much mid season conditions….From Mid Station down it was typically weird, but not a problem if you stay alert for the changing condition's... Truly mandatory download to Creekside. Very happy to be back and seeing old friends.
