After yesterday's CMSkier report and seeing below freezing temperatures this morning, it was with trepidation we headed to the mountain.  Another beautiful day weather-wise and I'm really liking that.  The first run down Lucky Shot revealed pretty nice grooming.  It was obvious they waited until the gloppy mess from yesterday froze before grooming.  The next run down Iceberg wasn't as good, but still better than a lot of other times.  GV right was unskiable and I traversed out.  However, they re-groomed Blazing Elk, Sluiceway, and Berry Patch and like Wednesday it was soft, smooth and fast from the start.  The first trip down lower E was a bit of a challenge, but after that, it became nicely softened bumps.  Pretty much did that all morning until going in for an early lunch at 11.  First lunch break at Crystal this year and we went big eating at the Summit House.  Myself and LD both had the grilled cheese sandwich with Tomato Bisque soup.  The grilled cheese was a little different with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and arugula.  Different, but delicious as was the soup.  Of course, had to have an Elysian Chair 6 to wash it down.  JD had the fish and chips.  Good, but way over priced.  Go to the fish shack at Campbell Basin if that's what you want.  Headed out before noon for another top to bottom and the way back up REX, saw a flurry of activity on the front side.  Wait, what?  Dropped chair line to find it nicely softened but a bit unconsolidated.  On a tip, we headed to Memorial.  It was awesome and the gulley was the best it's been this year.  I think CMSkier pounded a line for us yesterday.  We pretty much spent the next 2 hours doing Memorial.  A couple other interesting notes.  After lunch, GV actually started getting some corn snow in it, and all of Iceberg corned up before lunch.  We didn't hit any sticky snow until the last run on the trail from the bottom of Berry Patch to Lower E.  Turns out those colder temperatures last night and today were a blessing.  This afternoon's 2 hours were the best spring skiing we've had on the front side.  Never went up C6 or over to Bear Pits.  No reason to.

There might be one more good day tomorrow, then the temps drop and some precipitation comes in Sunday which will wreck the good spring snow.  We're off to the lower left for some sun next week so I'll turn it back over to ddk and CMSkier for reports.

After a little sun, some of the best spring snow imaginable. Iceberg at 10:30 turned to velvet and smoother than I've ever seen it. Deteriorated a bit after Gondy passers-by saw how it skied but worth three more, couple top to bottoms. Temps and a bit of wind kept the snow just right for hours and it was consistent, didn't matter which runs or aspects although a few spots held some colder compacted stuff that was fun. Really good day, one to remember.  No idea how the edibles went but big crowds outside the lodges enjoying the sunshine.
