Crystal - 03/31 Last March Day and Ultimate Spring Conditions

Ski Report -  Great day! Great lack of crowds (season over?), great blue bird sky, great grooming (well LS, Valley and MIFB, plus lower Ferk/Bull), great spring temps (almost got down to Hawaii shirt but had to leave to early), great socializing with folks on the lifts, great day for #1 who is really tired now.  Only made the effort for one PB and it was very nice.  Mostly skied GV Bowl to MIFB or LS, plus some fun runs with #1.  Big spring ski reports will follow.  Did notice some sticky slow snow at the bottom of MIFB heading towards REX.

Other - Ultra short day so no food stops.  Pay lot was half full of badly parked rows (always a problem when folks see the summer painted parking spots), B full passed the shuttle stop, C pushing fullish, cars in D and E but not many.  Drive up and down was end of season happy at speed and sadly for #1 we didnt notice any Elk Butts.  Fun morning and would like the rest of the season to be just like today.   We be heading out for Covid shot #2 - Yee Haa!

Beautiful weather, very few people and variable snow.  Coats came off at 10:30 for full-on Luau.  The good:  All the groomers with the best of the best being a perfectly groomed and softened-from-the-start Snorting Elk / Sluiceway / Berry Patch to big soft bumps in lower E.  Also good was Powder Bowl and Outer Ferks.  Kinda sorta good was GV right, GV chair line, and Ann's run.  Amazing how much those firmed up from yesterday.  Kinda sorta terrible:  Anything on the front side and all the sunny slopes on the Campbell Basin side of C6.  Yes, we actually skied them.  No, we didn't like them.  By 1, the snow was getting sticky in a lot of places and our legs were toast from yesterday's big day.

Need some more freeze thaw cycles and the front side to get skied more for it to be good spring skiing.  Based on today's crowd, not gonna happen.
