Ski report - Another nice sunny day with a ultra light early rush and a 8:30 opening again! I headed up REX for multiple nice GVB/MIFB runs and then a LS happy fast run - noticed CH6 was open, I was on my way. #1 started on FQex to nice empty groomers and we crossed paths when I headed to CH6. Only negative was FQex was on diesel and was kinda stop and go, but PB! worth multiple repeats. After the third PB started working to hook up with #1 - REX and FQex lines started the typical 10am glut and #1 was doing Kellys Gap with the Ferks. Finally met up and thought about a break at CB lodge, but FQex line was crappy, so did a break under the umbrella at the base watching the CHex line gradually disappear. Did a ride up and one more LS run to Deer Fly and decided it had been a great week for both of us.
Other - At the base we split some nice cold frys, its nice that CB lodge and Cascade lodge are walk in and sit where you want to (especially first thing in the morning!). Pay lot was pushing 4/5th, B and C full to the last spaces, D and E pretty full with a number of widely spaced cars in H - so it was a pretty big crowd for this week. Drive up and down mostly happy with no Elk noticed. Great day, Great week, ready for sleeping in an being lazy this weekend. Every body have a great weekend and suffer daylight savings time on Sunday and next week. PS Last year our last ski day of the season was yesterday the 12th....we are incredibly lucky this season to be skiing! Live long, wear a mask and get a vaccine shot for all of us!

And now a quick report for the rest of the day. After skiing all the north facing bowls in the morning (still good), the sweet spot today was noon - 2. The crowds left when ddk did and the entire front side went off with the best spring skiing of the year. And, I couldn't agree more, we are incredibly lucky just to be able to ski and it's made even sweeter by an incredible snow pack this year. Apparently lot's of people agreed as when we left, there wasn't a spot in A - H lots. F was completely empty, however. And yes, keep wearing those masks! It's the only way Crystal and all the other US resorts have been able to stay open this year.

Morning north facers were just as excellent as Iceberg wasn’t. When the Rex line grew to mind numbingly long, we ditched the coats and headed back to Six. We were thinking another Powder Bowl - Bear Pits, but since there was no line on Six, cycled Campbell Basin (voted best of the day by Amigoette) till word came in that the Frontside was soft. The next PB-BP was better than the first, the Rex line was tolerable, and Gully-Gully was great. Thanks to the early exiters sliming the lines, we got a lot of repeats. The lower mountain was hot and somewhere in the blur of runs the Top-to-Bottoms excelled. Till about 1:00 when the shady side of things started to re-crisp. Pleasantly tired after another big day, hoping it does more than re-freeze today’s softness next week.

Great day! Started with a couple valley icebergs, then went north to gates 3-4-6, all skiied good, but not like Thursdays 2-3 inches. All good!
We started doing Top to bottoms via Blazing elk thru Sluiceway non stoppers and they were awesome.
Next was employee housing which skied pretty good-a little crunch- a little cream, tough with guys that ski it non stop!
By now ddk was gone. We are very lucky to never close this year, and to be able to ski CRYSTAL MOUNTAIN in our back yard.
Its good to see all you guys over the years. ddk- I think Crystals last day last year was Saturday March 14.
I was supposed to be in Jackson this week, but due to a tragedy with my friends brother, I stayed here and did a 6 day run.
We might have the best skiing in the country right now. Crystal Rocks!

Day 1 of the season for me - immuno supressed but now fully vaccinated. Great day to start as mentioned above. Yes the lines were long; until we headed to Northway about noon - no line at all. It was mostly an easy day for me and young nephew but we did manage to hit Paradise Bowl and Sunnyside with pretty good timing. Iceberg later in the day softened nicely too and an early Lower Ferks/Bull Run put a big smile on my face. Looking forward to a lot more days.
