Heavenly Blue Bird Powder 3/9/2021

Not much pow, but it was light and there is more to come! All lifts are open, and there is lots of well groomed terrain, in this seemingly well run Vail Resort. Off piste is generally hard under an inch of new, but there was a few inches of preserved powded in shaded aspects. Skied every lift in Nevada and it was sure nice to get in some long runs for the first time this season. Paid $13.75 for a Sierra Nevada Torpedo - but it is Heaven right? Don't know how it's possible, but the wife keeps getting better, as I grudgingly, slowly decline. 3" new will keep me happily in the open Pondarosa Pines tommorrow. 8" new in Mott Canyon...
 

Thanks for the post - been thinkin about Tahoe somethime in the not to distant future!   More posts would be good. And what the snow pack is like.

Its a Big Mountain Resort. Fantastic right now. Lots of snow on main runs. Ridgelines, south and west facing trees are shallow. Tree skiing limited because of that. Staying on Nevada side with walk to lift and no lines. Still got over to Cali today. More snow for this time in March than a normal year (The 2 recent big years are an exception). Soft snow with no freeze thaw yet. So happy to get a break from Stevens...And since I can't ski Whistler Heavenly gets close.
