Perfect deep powder day at Steven's Pass with my daughter, Avajane, and a new friend. Got in the Kehr's line at 8:45am and made our first turns on Southern Cross at 10:30...The turns were worth it, and I just chilled out durning the long wait, and thought about how much time I typically put in to ski a slope like that in the backcountry. It made me feel a little better while watching up to 7 ski patrollers hand digging the lift line on Double Diamond...Jupiter opened around 1:00pm. I guess the parking lots were also slow to be dug out, as Stevens must be suffering from a lack of employees...But back to the skiing...we got a handfull of quality runs and had a great time. Cut glades, old growth, lift lines, it was all fantastic snow. Even got to order food and a beer, and eat outside in a storm.
