Stevens was closed Tuesday and snow fell all day, so Wednesday looked to be good with 2 inches overnight and at least a foot the day before. Unfortunately the word got out resulting in difficult parking and 15-20 minute lines. And of course all the fresh snow got skied up in no time. Still, the cloudless blue skies and plenty of fresh stashes of powder plus the cut-up soft stuff  made for a fun day of skiing, at least until the afternoon.  The snow got thicker and the bumps bigger as the day went on. The lines were tough to take. Even Seventh Heaven andf Tye Mill even had 10-minute waits at times. It didn't help that they did not open the backside or Double Diamond all day, apparently because of the avalanche danger - but who knows with Stevens' track record this season. Last week they had half the lifts closed on a glorious powder day because they said they didn't have the staff to run the lfits.   Big Chief's line mellowed out a bit around noon today and the snow was soft and deeper in the trees, so we did multiple runs there.

I had hoped they had turned the corner last Friday, first day this year I felt they operated as they should.  Looks like it was a fluke.  Going to be hard to renew the pass if they can't show consistent operations.
