Crystal - 02/23 BIG

Short Report - BIG!  Deep new snow, smallish crowd, okay vis close to the trees (Doors, BP and Memorial), nice in GV Bowl when I had a one run can see things, Snowing hard all morning with a almost sun break late morning. Lift lines reasonable - well REX anyway, only lift I rode other than first ride up CHex. Fair sized early morning rush looked like things might be powder day bad, but other than a short mid morning mess on REX (no line control help), it was pretty much ski up and get on. Only skied BP's (BIG!), Doors, SunnySide and Memorial (worth repeats of the left over cut up powder). Fun morning for a Hamster and all the hard core big skiers were having even more fun when I bumped into them on REX.. Finished my day with very tired quads skiing E top to bottom (haven't done that enough this season, but had to many stops to rest those sore legs). Great bonus day - Thanks for not showing up! 

Other - Looks like the employees are bailing or hung over or ? Not many folks working, either in the A lot or setup of the lift lines early - plus line control. Drive up was early (powder day) and pleasant, drive down was just early enough to beat the slow drivers - snowing pretty hard all the way down the BLVD. Never headed to CH6 since the vis up high required trees to be able to see. Pay lot was 3/4,  as was B lot, C looked close to full.

Great powder day...everywhere was great skiing. Green Valley Bowl, West Face (boottop untracked), Memorial, Doors, Lucky Shot trees, Snorting Elk bowl, and Kelly's Gap was superb. Chair 6 looked socked in so didn't venture up there; having too much fun on Rex and GV. One of those days when the snow filled in your tracks by the time you came back for a repeat. Fresher and deeper as the day continued, light powder, deep here and there but soft and fun everywhere. It snowed most of the day, sometimes hard, but visibility was ok in or near the trees. It was one of those days you dream about.
