Crystal - 2/19 was created by CD
Left our house in a monsoon of rain that turned to snow on the way up. Thinking visibility was going to be bad today, drove into sun at the bottom of the boulevard. Crystal seemed to be caught off guard with the 4 - 6 inches of new snow with none of the parking lots plowed. Skiing was excellent powder and packed powder all day. Late mid-morning, it clouded up and snowed for a bit, but then returned to some sun breaks. Best run of the day was heading to Employee Housing, only to find it closed, so dropped into Right Angle. I haven't skiied that line for a long time. What a hoot and great snow being one of the first through. Then, the big bonus. Hit I-5 to find it plowed and groomed all the way out. Two EH's followed.
The only downside today was the huge crowds. Busiest day of the week. But by noon, everyone went somewhere as there were no more lines on REX, GV or Chinook. Sure am glad the holidays are over and interest in skiing will start to wane.
B - H lots completely full and maybe 20% in F lot, so lot's of people. And, people driving up to catch the last few days of night skiing.

A big crowd day turned into a big run day. If we were going to wait in line, might as well do some big runs. As the lines grew, headed north for a couple Right Angles (that’s what CD meant) and when it opened some most excellent Employee Housing runs. I-5 is in great shape, best of many years, and the lower half is even cat wide grooming. Lots of cut pow and packed pow everywhere. From 10:00 on, the lines slowly diminished, even going to zero on C-3. The GV line was so long, everyone had left and we did some C-3 runs with zero line. Then, we switched to the infamous Valley-Sluiceway-Berry Patch-Lower E for a couple runs as the visibility faded at about the same rate as our energy.
There was a continuous line of cars coming up at 2:00 for night skiing, which ends this weekend, to park in F-Lot. Tell your friends that ski season is over.
