Normally I would be at Blackcomb/Whistler this week - so sad i cant get across the boarder....Oh Well today was a great way to suffer.
Snow Report - You shoulda been up today (glad you were not - ha ha). Smaller crowd than expected for a ultra early opening of the mountain for a weekday (8:25 ish ouch!). Big sun early, great boot top+ snow everywhere, diamonds in the snow skiing the front side, light crowd allowed the goods to last longer than typical. Still a crust underneath on some aspects - what would you expect with Rocky Mountain cold smoke new. Upped the Hamster Treadmill width from really awesome PB/BP's to SunnySide old (yee haa JD) all the way out to EH! - very nice with even I-5 being above average for my old lungs and legs. Great conditions, probably even better in lots of places I don't do very often. OUCH!
Other - As noted a very light crowd on the lifts, no real lift lines I noticed even the multiple laps on CH6 lapping PB! OUCH! very nice. Still crunchy under the new in places, but after PB the next best was GV Bowl!....even MIFB was fun left over piles of fun. Great Day! Not as cold as I expected do to lack of stand around time, but its gonna get cold the rest of the week.
Other Other - drove up worrying that I might be late, lucky no. When I left at noon with more real vert than I've had this season (and less lift line standing around), pay lot was maybe pushing 1/3, B lot 3/4 and C lot 4/5 and that was the crowd. Drive up just early enough was pleasant and drive down was at speed.
Other other other - Have been looking at the Avie telemetry, either something is wrong on my crappy computer or something is wrong with there info? Did not match what I saw today.
