Got there around 1 to avoid the crowds, which I heard weren't bad all day. Groomers were the typical soft piles and ice sheets, except Downhill on FQ was pretty smooth and fun. Everything else ~ Lucky Shot, GV bowl, Snorting Elk -- was skiing pile-to- pile with lots of ice in between. Not a whole lot of fun, for me anyhow. A skier who got there early said it was good early on with about 4 inches of new but it didnt take long for that to get skied down to the ice layer. The highlight for me was Powder Bowl which was soft and fun where it had been skied up. Best was high up ...down lower there were big frozen clumps but you could find lines that had been smoothed. You still have to step over a few rocks on top. Weather was good..partial sun and cold temps that kept the snow in great shape.
