Yikes, a tough, crowded day ending in an early departure. The weather was on the cold side, but with a lot of blue sky and sun poking through the partial clouds. That was the best part of the day. Our first run down Lucky Shot revealed it had not been groomed last night, but was still relatively smooth from yesterday's light crowd. But, it was almost impossible to get an edge on the steeper sections where there was an inch of new over ice. Back up to GV and down the GV favorite on the right side. Same as Lucky Shot, but with moguls. They've also given up trying to groom the left side of the bowl that had even bigger moguls than the right. After poking around GV looking for something enjoyable, we headed to the relatively safety of FQ. The grooming was better and it was possible to hold an edge on the flatter sections. But Rolling Knoll? No way. Unfortunately, the FQ motor went into some sort of safety mode that was allowing the chair to run at only half speed and no one up there seemed to know how to fix it. With GV and REX not skiing good, the line on FQ grew to 15 minutes fast. We bailed and headed back to GV. Unfortunately, the line there had grown to 10 minutes. So, we bailed again, but this time off the mountain.
When we left at 11:30, B, C, D, and E lots were all filled to capacity. H lot was half full and filling fast. F lot was closed by a big snow berm. Based on all the cars coming up, I hope there was a lot of early departures or there was going to be no where for the late comers to park. I have never seen a really crappy Friday so crowded exacerbated by COVID lift capacity restrictions. I guess it was still better than sitting on the couch.

Second to all the above. We did some ddk hamster loops, GV to LS, that were better in the morning. When we came down and noticed the huge Forest Queen line we went to Quick [ slow] Silver for a couple of laps where we found the best snow of the day.
