The day started with a beautiful sunrise and a herd of elk on our drive up to the mountain.  We boarded the chair right at nine and it stayed empty until about 1030. There was about an hour after that when we had small lines on GV and FQ. It was mostly sunny for the morning. Some high clouds moved in and the light got a bit flat around 12 o'clock or so. It got warm in the midday sun. Warm enough to unzip the coat and the pit zips. Lunch was comfortable  on the picnic tables by the Campbell Basin Lodge.  The mountain is getting pretty bony.  A lot of rocks popping out.  Iceberg was bad, although it did soften up enough that the snow was good.  Spots in Green Valley and Lucky Shot are getting worse. The chair six Hamburger traverse was the worst I have ever seen it.  That all being said it was a good day skiing. Just a great day to be outside.

Better than expected snow & hardly anyone around early. G.V. skied great but anything groomed was skiing well. Top to bottom L.S. with one other (standing) skier the entire way. Am I really at Crystal? As noted, sun was out for a nice stretch but clouds were back by 11:00'ish. Rocks came out, Iceberg middle - lower had plenty as did a section of G.V. and Lucky Shot lower face. A day to love a carving ski, an evening with a p-tex candle.
