June 1, 2020 Crystal was created by Zap
It was the 1st day of the summer opening in June 2020.Remember that this a report by someone in his mid-70’s.

We had our Reservationfrom 12pm to 1:00pm. They have a check-in site at the start of the parking
areas -- 2 lanes and that can handle 2 different vehicles. One person with a mask
checked our reservation and told us we could park in Lot A with a bit of space
between vehicles. We parked up close to the front where there is angled parking
along the side.We got dressed and saw a variety of folks, some with winterand some with summer clothing. Most had masks of one kind or another.

We got inthe line for the gondola which was up to the Ski Patrol door. There are lines every
6 feet marking the desired spacing between groups. The gondola line was rather
short, but it took awhile because you ride only with your group or by yourself
if you are a single. There is a booth with an attendant behind a Plexiglas panel
who scans your pass (Ikon/day/other).  Another
attendant tells you when to load the gondola as they only load every other
cabin; another person sprays the interior of the cabin just vacated by people down-loading
with an alcohol solution. About half the folks in our line were singles so it took
a while.

The coverage was OK at 1:30 pm on the skier’s side of theGreen Valley lift.  We went around the
backside of Green Valley with the hope that the traverse had snow. The first
section was bare, but there are options.  The Green Valley bowl area was fine with good
coverage. The loading of the GV lift was the typical line, but if you are by yourself
you load the chair by yourself. So the line moves, but a lot slower. The
distance between groups was a few feet (social distancing, i.e. 6 ft not
usually maintained except by front and tail of skis), and there was a mix of
masks and no masks. The tough part of the day was the long walk from the top ofthe lift back up to the gondola entry point. They have placed numerous picnic
tables along the ridge which was great.

There was no lift line to load the
gondola cabin, and then we had a great view of the terrain for hiking and/or
backcountry skiing. The upcoming ski season will bring?????? It should be
interesting.

Thanks ZAP....been waiting for a report.  Excellent post of info....I procrastinated the first lotto and the second and maybe will
try soon - just cause!   I be a single skier and  think that it is definitely a pain in the new "normal".  Best wishes and again thanks
for the FIRST real lift assisted post on the new TAY web site..
