Crystal - 03/12 was created by ddk
Short Report - A tottally to early report do to other life issues. Today! Awesome nice, relatively
light crowd, coolish temps, big sun, big views, great snow on the north facing slopes (PB and GV
bowl), great groomers (LS and MIFB), great getting softer sunny slopes (BP's and EH). Just a
mighty fine day, sorry we had to leave to early.

Other - Passed through CB lodge and the soup was gonna be Clam Chow, pizza looked awful. Base
lodge was down sizing the available seating do to the virus, same at CB lodge. Pay lot was massive
and not full, rest of A was packed, C and B had cars to the shuttle stops - so there was a fair
crowd on the mountain today.

Other Other - It was kinda fun riding Chair 6 and watching the Junior crazy's skiing the Throne. Great
sunny day for all the visitors from Whistler to Tahoe.

A 4 out of 5 day. Late report because we made up for ddk's earlier departure by sticking around later than usual. No chance of overlapping reports today.

Weather started out a little iffy with some wispy clouds blowing across the mountain obscuring the sun and keeping things cold. By mid-morning, it was gone and full-on bluebird day. By noon, the warmth hit. 2 out of 2 for weather

Due to the cold temps, the groomers were hard and off-piste was limited to the usual suspects. Spent a lot of time skiing the valley and valley/ferkberg cutting into a groomed Plunge. It actually was better than Ferkberg. When the clouds lifted, hit Powder Bowl which was very nice. Particularly good was the left side down John's Chute. Started to intersperse some top-to-bottoms down GV/Plunge/Lower Bull. By noon, it had softened to the point those runs were ridiculously fast. By 1, we threw in some front sides with the left side of Showtime nice. Last late run was out Kelly's Gap into soft lower-E bumps. All the Amigos hit a season high vert. 2 out of 3 for snow, just because the morning was limited.

As ddk mentioned, the base lodge was down-sized from seating for 330 to the mandated 250. Also, there was no food service, just the espresso stand. They did have the sandwich shack on the sun deck open and full seating outside. When LD went through the Campbell Lodge, she said some of the seating had been re-arranged, but it looked like they had all their normal food selections. With the schools closed for the next 6 weeks, I wonder if it's gonna get busier mid-week. Strange times.
