We were thinking of skiing Cypress ski area "above" Vancouver, BUT... One last check at Baker's forecast provided another powder event. They received 6" overnight, and it was NOT crowded. Old skiers were in the minority. Snowboarders were flying over the cliff areas and through tight trees -- fun to watch when you could see. It snowed lightly during our time there. The temperature went up slowly. Powder was everywhere, but it was wind-blown on the upper slopes, so we skied near tree lines. It is not normal to ski at a ski area with fresh powder and have NO crowds in lift lines. The morning had fog at different elevations and sun only at the top of the chair 6. We took chair 6 and at the top you can hike to the top of chair 1 (we didn't do so) and ride The Chute, Austin and Blue-Cat-Track. You'd then return via chair 3 to get to chairs 4, 5, and 6 and to Raven Hut. The hike up above chair 8 was closed in the "fog". There was great coverage and it was a fun powder day. I remember when we would drive 3 hours from home to Baker and back. Now you can park overnight at White Salmon base and Heather Meadows base area. Spring Powder. ;)
