Very nice day, lots of sun, big views, kinda cold to start but got almost toasty early afternoon, great groomers early,
north facing slopes all prime. #1 had a great day except for whining about the big crowds (not really that big),
but it is mid winter break for the kids - do they ever go to school anymore? Did see some lines on GVex and FQex
late morning, never on REX and HC. Best quality for me was way further south than I've been this season -
Hamburger (ha ha), PB!, BP's, GV Bowl, Grubstake and I even enjoyed Exterminator for my last run. Heard EH was
good. Looking forward to a few other reports from others about today.
Other stuff - Nice easy early drive up (saw a number of elk), got to park in the A lot, easy very pleasant drive down.
Looks like its Triple C soup for the week. Fairly busy in the lodges when we pasted through them. Pay lot full of badly
parked cars, 4 buses, full car pool lot, B and C mostly fullish and D lot. So smaller car crowd than yesterday, but
still pretty big for a Tuesday. The number of mud slide areas on 410 is pretty impressive.

We ran into ddk in the CB lodge. It was nice to catch up. Northway was to icy for a repeat. Our favorites were PB, Hamburger, the traverse was descent, and Snorting Elk right. Our last run down Kellys Gap was fun. What a beautiful day.

Amigoette filling in for the broken CMSkier
It was really good! Â Big blue sky all day. It was dang cold, but I was plenty warm skiing off-piste. Â Many runs were pretty skied out, which was a good thing because in most cases there was a little soft snow over a slightly crunchy base -- except on the north facers, which were more like packed powder. Â I skied Bowl to Bowl (Powder to Paradise). Â Just below Powder Bowl's Main Chute it was surprisingly choppy but skiable, and it got better down lower. Â The best run, though, was Bear Pits! Â The main middle run was really skied out and fun, at least on the first time down, but it was a little icier the second time. Â So, the third and fourth times I went down far skier's left next to the trees, which was n-i-i-i-i-c-e! Â I think that should hold up until tomorrow. Â Sunnyside was had good skier grooming and was fun. Not so much for the doors. Valley bowl was really good, as was Grubstake. Â Paradise Bowl was also really nice. I thought it might be extra crowded today because of school winter breaks, and there were a lot of kids, but no lines to speak of. There's going to be some sun damage but those areas will be nice with some radiant heat later.

Saw you all driving up there as I drove to work.
Jealous I was.
