Took the day off work to ski with the wife.
Whole mountain completely tracked out by yesterday's overachieving hamsters.
Upper groomers skied alright.
Then I hooked up with a buddy and we dropped the local side stash and met the usual suspect at the skinning transition spot. It skied really good and the skin track out was 8/10.
Next headed out South with the first wave. Most headed to the King but we schlepped out to the Beach. It was okay but very very dense. Kinda disappointing.

My buddy had never skied Deep North so we decided to pop his Deep north cherry .
Very deep, very reactive, set off some loose wet pockets. Had to ski cut and follow  good protocol to ski out safety  Top skied great despite that but lower was a buffalo wallow to the walk out. Wife picked us up on the old access road.
I loved it cuz I like to suffer.... buddy less enthused  I think but he was a trooper .

After a quick lunch we headed back into the side country and hit a big line deep into the park. Most excellent powder skiing but the skin out was trail breaking through deep snow up steep slopes. Exhausting. By the time we got back to the resort it was closed and Patrol were sweeping.

Fantastic day. Very strenuous. Lotta fun and some suffering as a bonus.
