AaaaaHaaaaa today? Definitely at least a half full glass for me! Light early crowd (duh!) in the ice
skating rink at the bottom of CHex (after surviving the icy A lot). Early snowing turned into very nice
sunny conditions (helpled to dodge the ice balls). Figured it would be a groomer day off of REX, but
no grooming on the steeper slopes and the off piste - GV Bowl! - were very nice...not everywhere but
way better than expected. Dont know about off piste below the bottom of REX and sadly didnt check
out PB or BP's - probably should have, but if you like lumpy frozen icy crap then the steeper sections
of LS and all of ultra icy MIFB you would have been in heaven, I was. Lucky I took the K2 EXP's which
hadnt been on snow since last season - Yee Haaa! prime fun carving blow through it all fun. I would
not say today was great for a lot of folks, but if you like to be in the mountains sliding on white
stuff...
Other - Soup of the week at CB lodge was the very tasty Southwest Pulled Pork left overs (SWPP from
today on), I had instead a slice of Italian Solemini (? had to ask what it was - multi meat with
peprocini(sp?), very good and big and not burned!) Base soup when I left - not today, pizza - looked like
card board freezer pizza. Lodges pretty empty cause the crowd was pretty light.
Other Other - Got to park in the early bird row between the pay lot and the car pool lot...pretty lucky.
Heard they are still turning folks with out four early (late?). Pay lot was weekend massive and weekday
empty, Bus lot was very big but probably the afternoon ski buses hadnt shown up by the time
I left. B and C had lots of widely spaced cars, but nowhere near full.Drive up was a little icy in
funny spots, drive down was at mostly happy speed.
A lot funner day than expected...Thanks BINX for responding to my text this morning, Thanks for
making me go, thanks for letting me ski a few runs and ride a few lifts with you! It was fun.
