Today? Variably interesting and all over the place. Arrived stupidly early to get the #1 A-
parking spot (more info in the other sections). Got the #1 spot on CHex and then had a nice
pleasant time waiting for opening. CHex started loading right at 8:45, jumped onto REX (running
very sadly slow, wind? other issues? hhhhmmm). No winds up top for the first hour or so,
increasing sucker hole of blue sky kept getting bigger all morning! Snow? Dusting on crust
in many places and other places got nice wind loaded. Since the Coombas hadn't had much time
on variable snow conditions, it was a mental slow start..but things got better and better
(half full glass for me). Winds and snow blew in around noon - managed to get a okay run
down PB (good vis, variable snow) almost got talked into BP's by Xtals #1 hamster but wimped
into LS (skied actually pretty nice today hitting the piles of snow in-between the icy
skidder areas. Did a few runs down GV Bowl, doable with good vis, snow blowed into the lower
and flatter areas was nice (Stump Farm and Skid row on my last run to the base were very
pleasant. Lifts ran ultra slow early when the winds were not that bad and seemed to be
running normal mid day when the winds were howling.
Still was fun to be out on the slopes on what has been my worst ever start to a season and
sadly the fun days of perfect packed pow are over and gone for awhile.
Other - CB soup was a Southwestern left over Pulled Pork thing, very tasty actually. Spent
to much time socializing (almost felt like BINX, where was he today?) Met the new CB lodge
manager and had a nice discussion about issues and plans for CB lodge.
Other Other - Parking! As noted earlier I was not in the A lot, talked to a very nice A lot
parking lady, who indicated that there are some big discussions going on about the A lot. Like
moving the 4X car parking to the front of the C lot and making A lot more like recent normal.
And first come first parking on weekdays. Yee Haa! Parking today? Four buses with room for
twelve, Old weekend big pay lot that was 3/4 empty, rest of A sorta full (but how many car
pools?) B lot sorta full to the shuttle stop as was C. So a few folks showed up, but spent
most of the day riding solo
