Crystal - 01/05

Very late report -
New snow, but variable in its distribution, snowing hard most of the morning, big early crowd and
the crowd just kept getting bigger.  GV Bowl was nice early, no real lift lines on REX, FQex had
typical lines during the late morning rush. HC was running slow do to winds, so looked like a lineup
there.  I was kinda lazy, so didnt try to many areas, looked at MIFB from the top and decided the
lack of grooming and the nice icy bumps kept me off it - did Memorial which also had its icy bumps
down low.  Heard upper Sunnyside was nice, Doors not so nice. Building crowds and low energy sent
me home early - glad I did since I missed out on the traffic crap on the blvd.

Other - Pizza was good at CB lodge, no soup of the day since they ran out of "it" on Saturday?
Lodges were packed as I passed through them. All the parking lots were full with cars being
held at the bottom of the blvd for available space - ouch!  Might be my last weekend day for
a while, till the car pool part of  A goes away, that or I'll have to get used to riding the
cattle cars.  Not going to be happy tomorrow if we don't get to park in the A lot.

Exterminator and all the stuff around Kelly's gap opened (for the first time this year?) around 1 pm. Blower top to bottom walk on gondi powder laps till close while everyone cheered on the Seahawks in the lodge. Seahawks radio comes in perfect on 97.3 on the mountain (nothing like dropping in for a powder run right after a Lynch td). DDK, you just get to the mountain too early.

Why you down there? Bark sandwich is rocking!

Sunnyside was great in AM as all was filled in by the wind. Only crowd I had was at base at 1st load then nothing? 3 laps at Sunnyside then off to Northway, no lines, go figure. Skied out BC gate and did 15 laps without a soul in site . Knee deep pow in some spots with average at boot top, good coverage. Only line was at GV 2 PM and legs were noodles after 22 runs.
