Interesting opening week with low snow and sunshine - and progressively more snow every day! This morning didn't disappoint. 7" new at Pig Alley -12" on Franz's Meadow!
Started out skiing down to Garbanzo to catch some steepish, ungroomed runs that wouldn't be skied out immediately. Very difficult heavy snow which took speed and a steep line to be able to turn. I'd have done better on fatter skis (or 20 years younger) It was really all or nothing...However, In the trees on a steep road it turned to sweet snow for about 30 turns! After 3 laps finished my morning at Franz's Meadow. Deep and skiable powder, but still very dangerous with rock wells and such. My friend fell in one and took a while to get out!
It's still cold
Up there and not getting rained out by this "atmospheric river"...Back in a fortnight!
