Skiing today with new skiers in the Bluebird Sunshine, made the groomers fun again! Spent a full speed morning at Blackcomb going From Christine's to Mid Gondola, Excellerator or Base II. I'm never one to crow about Blackcomb, but it could be that the snowmaking was better than Whistler, and there is still an under the ropes ribbon to the bottom....Yes, more snow is needed desperately, but they are obviously set up for dealing with the next storm. I feel like 12 inches could open 12 trails and several more lifts. Lots of both mountains are skiable by hitting some rocks, and 15 years ago wouldn't have had ropes on them. I think they will be ready for the Christmas rush...Still hoping for more snow this week.
