We have to be home soon, so we headed to Utah, but only a few stops. Alta is a unique place where there are no snowboarders. Today was a "demo day" at the Collins and Wildcat lifts. So we parked at the Albion Base and walked 40 feet to get our lift tickets with our Mountain Collective passes. Alta opens at 9:15am. Yes, it is a "rule", and I remembered this from decades ago.

Clouds come and go, and the sun comes out then it disappears in the clouds. We skied the tree lines off the Sugarloaf and Supreme express lifts and avoided the demo folks. It was not a snow storm, but a 1" flurry while we were there. Since our last visit they replaced the Supreme lift with an express lift and got rid of the rolling carpet thing. It was fun and fast. You can't say anything, but "this is Alta". Damn, this a great area.

Sorry! Yes there is a hype, but there is a happy world for some old folks skiing with out looking over their shoulder for lessor folk's than you! I prefer Snowbird..bigger vert! And most folks at Alta aren't waiting for the corduroy!
