March 28, 2019 Mammoth – 12” Powder-WOW

It was 7am and 24 degrees when I took a photo of our Subaru with 9" of fresh powder at a motel in June Lake. Some of the high elevation chairs were on "wind hold" for awhile. We skied the main runs from the Eagle Lodge lift first thing. Then we skied the treed terrain. It was just amazing with the 12" of powder on the mountain, protected from the wind and sun. Tree skiing, and we were alone most of the time, in spite of the crowds on the groomers. It was a treat to ski fresh powder at the end of March, and there are more storms coming next week.
