It was a perfect day with no wind, packed powder, and sun. Oh yes! We rode the Cornice Express lift and had great runs down the Zachary and Olympic trails. The packed powder was just perfect. A few folks were climbing up to Glove Rock to get to the remaining powder lines. We rode Solitude, The Reut, and then the Sunrise lift on the backside. The Vista T-Bar was running to provide steep lines in the chutes, The Cirque, and Devil's Corral. At the top of the Sunrise lift there used to be a rope tow for easier access to Covered Wagon Peak. Now it's a long walk or skin out. I spoke to a ski patroller who confirmed that the rope tow was difficult to maintain due to the winds along that ridge. We have toured out past Covered Wagon to Melissa Corey peak for unique and beautiful terrain. We parked about 50 feet from the Cornice Express, and there were only a few other folks enjoying the conditions. Another sunscreen day.
