Nice day, nice grooming, nice couple new inches and a lot more in places, nice vis mostly, nice ultra light crowd for a Friday (at least on the lifts I rode), not so nicely sized pay lot - bus zone was massive this morning, but I think someone noticed and made it a little more normal Friday sized, nice not having massive winds - had some but not bad, nice cold temps kept the new snow happy, nice conditions on the hamster runs I did - PB/BP/OF, GV Bowl to MIFB, one pleasant run out Kellys Gap with a new friend (Erik - c or k? - who was a client of #1's a long time ago - small world!), did a few runs off of FQex looking for Lyle (did get his BMW's - better condition than my old ones...actually road the lift with a guy who bought a pair at the Newcastle swap this last fall - totally bizarre! noticed today that the BMW's are a heavy ski compared to my new EXP's), snow quality was very nice everywhere except for the top of HC - rocks on top are down right nasty, bumps are still small in most places, it was nice bumping into other TAY folks today that are migrating from telly to fixed heel skiing - huh, weird world right now? Heard lots of second reports of great conditions out North today and out South yesterday from the usual side country hard cores. Also noticed folks proving that the front side of REX was not a nice snow day - ha ha!
Other - Soup at CB lodge was the Triple C (good and spicy, could have used some rice or crackers - no crackers? who ever is ordering the food has had some problems this year), pizza was not done and probably was not very good. As noted the pay lot was kinda big and there actually were a lot of cars in B and C ? Drive was pretty nice and happy today. Ready to sleep in tomorrow during what will likely be a massive crowd for the start of the holiday weekend.
