Short version - a very nice day.
AaaaaaaaaaaHaaaaaaaaaaaa! Nothin like the day after the holiday season. Easy drive, closer parking, empty base lodge, massive 5 chair load on CHex, a lift line again today? Not! Almost had to make effort to ride with anyone on a lift today. Grooming prime, off piste bumps in GV Bowl!!! Better than prime. North facing slopes! Lots of early morning screamers lapping LS and GV/MIFB - some happy bumps and some fast screaming. 11hour kicked into overdrive - PB/GV/GS/EH! Ouch fun for a hard core lazy hamster in the treadmill...still didn't like I5 though, better with the new skis! with edges and wax! Yee Haa. Had forgotten what it was like with a new ski with truly sharp edges.
Bottom line, great day, great easy fun snow, great vis and sun and views for mountains and clouds and everything. Only place I was that was iffy was the rock garden off the top of The Queen - but 20ft and I could have done PB a bunch more times.
Other - Passed thru CB lodge long enough to see Chicken Noodle and lots of basic pizzas. Lodges not maxed out today. Pay lot smaller and still not full. Other parking - spaced when we left? Elk on the random road up and actually saw a herd on the way down.
Other Other - New Skis! K2 Red/White/Blue Experimental's...took a couple runs to figure out how to ski a "new" ski with edges that aren't RockCoombas and can turn with out skidding...ha ha.
