The first version of today - Nicer than expected, Valley Bowl was smooth with new snow, not deep but very happy, fairly light early crowd, but a very efficient crowd, yesterdays wet and precip did a nice job plastering the slopes, covering more of the rocks and stumps. Chair 6 (used to be High Campbell?) opened right around 10 with a massive six or eight pairs of folks waiting, I got into the second wave of three or four mostly singles and that was pretty much the rush for the day on 6. PB skied great in the middle - smooth liked it had been groomed, not deep where I was skiing - rocks off the very top are a mess, but if you pick the right line it was easy. Did PB a bunch of times since it was the most enjoyable snow quality for me. Lower down on the mountain the off piste was pretty brutal, last steep pitch on LS took some skier traffic to get into skiable shape. Winds were howling in some places up top which made for slow chairs. Lots of filtered sun was great. Felt pretty cold with the winds, glad I over dressed. Great day!
Other - Pay lot fairly big and fairly empty, rest of A down into the upper part of C and a few rows of cars in B...so there were a few folks around.
Other Other - Soup at CB lodge was Chicken Noodle, but it was kinda thin on the noodles (got train the new employees), Pizza looked okdayish, beer was very good. Drive up was nice, drive down was okay, parking lot this morning was an ice skating rink.
