Another small overnight powder event. Being a Sunday, we knew it would be busy, but Peak 6 usually has a late opener. Ski patrol was still working, BUT we didn't want to lose our spot for the third chair on the Zendo lift. We had a 15 minute wait and then it started loading. From the top of that chair we skied down to the Kensho Super chair and got on chair 5. The younger folks were faster... The ride was fantastic with only a couple of ski patrollers' tracks visible. The powder lines were everywhere. They had received 6" over the last 48 hrs., and the top of Peak 6 had ski boot deep, light powder. "Soft on soft". The top of the lift is at 12,320', but you could hike to terrain at 12,573'. No time for pictures, just wanted/needed to ride NOW. It was soooooo light and we cut lines top to bottom. We stopped once and realized that folks were following our lines. Ours were the first set of tracks down Reverie (other than one set by the ski patrol). We started again so NO ONE could take "our line". We got to the base, reloaded the lift, and looked at each other with that "look" of Wow, that was fantastic! Our second run was good, but the area was getting skied out quickly.

The upper bowls were opening and the clouds were rolling in. We also rode the lifts on Peaks 7, 8 and 9. Peak 10 was closed. We rode for 3 1/2 hours until our legs were about shot. The sun came out in the afternoon, but it was still cold and the snow was in great shape. No lift lines and another powder day. Not bad for some old ski bums!
