December 7, 2018 Vail – Powder

Yes, another powder day with 5" overnight plus the 3" the previous day. We started the day from the Lionshead Vail Square and rode the Eagle Bahn Gondola when the lift started at 9am. 185 trails are open with 21 lifts running. Powder everywhere. The Back Bowls are open. No lift lines, and we spent 3 hours chasing powder. I learned a new phrase: "soft on soft". We all know about fresh on a base which can be soft, firm, icy, scratchy, no base, rocky, etc... Today was "soft on soft". Very nice. After 3 days of skiing we're taking tomorrow off. It will be a day to rest up and get ready for sunny days and the next storm.
