Summit West – 3/11 was created by BB
Today was my first day of the season and more importantly the first day post heart transplant last October. Since I was not going for high intensity today and wanted to get home early, I went back to my roots at Snoqualmie Pass (aka Summit West). Only 3 chairs were spinning, Little Thunder (beginner), Pacific Crest (with a 25 minute breakdown), and Wildside (oooh, scary). But that was enough for me today. Big sunny day, nice slush texture, light crowd. Maybe the $85(!) lift ticket had some effect on the crowd size. Fortunately it is only $57 for age 62 and over. They have 2 cool looking beginner carpets inside a tube. I thought about trying one out just for fun. The old Thunderbird restaurant at the top is unused and falling apart. I am not sure when I last skied at Snoqualmie but the Thunderbird chair was still there so a long time ago.
