It was sunny - a beautiful sunny day with no wind, temps in the 20's, and packed powder. We picked up our free tickets (from our Powder Alliance/Fusion passes) and started a great day. We took the Sunnyside lift to get to the middle and upper lifts. The Alpine lift had perfect groomers and the only other people were an area Host and his 5 clients It has meadows and borders the Alpine Cabin with snacks and toilet. Next, the Powder Pack lift with more treed terrain and a bit steeper runs. After that, Bridger lift with racer lines and a midway unloading point - nicely groomed and steeper. The upper unload is for the North Bowl and the climbing route to the Ridge Terrain with a High Traverse and Steep lines. The 3 lifts mentioned are new lifts with the 'moving carpet' for loading. The Pierre's Knob lift provides access to the Fingers area and climbing to the Ridge Terrain. During my younger (pre-Jill) years we had our avy transceivers and backcountry gear and climbed up. This lift provides access to great tree skiing and the South Bowl. I still have a trail map from the old days. About 10 years ago they added the Slushman's lift that provides access to the top of the Ridge Terrain at 8800'. The slopes are steeeeeeep rocky chutes and ravines that make you think 'why did I follow him/her to this spot??'. Many movies have been filmed on the Ridge Terrain. It is really great to visit an area of past years and relive those memories of 'I skied that', and then to think 'glad I don't need to do that again'.

It was a great day with a bluebird sky, no crowds, perfect grooming, and lots of fast, fun turns. Needless to say, a fun time was had by all! ;)
