We knew there was a storm arriving overnight. No snow in Bend this AM, but heading west outside of town it started. The parking lot was covered and there was drifting snow because of the heavy winds. We picked up our MAX Pass tickets and rode the Pine Marten lift. No lift lines. We skied the groomers which were covered with the 3" of fresh powder, and each run was refreshed due to the snow and wind. The top of the lifts was a blizzard. You skied, but really couldn't see much until you reached the treed area. Then you could ski your lines and hit the untracked powder. We worked east and rode Skyliner. The top was a whiteout, then we skied Cliffhanger, Corkscrew, Skyline, and Olympian. Next we headed farther east and rode Cloudchaser - another whiteout with even higher wind. We headed to Wanoga and Hemlock and did the long traverse to back to the Sunrise lift. After 3 hours of powder skiing we headed back to the camper. It was covered with powder and wind drifts. A GREAT Valentine's Day!.
