Bring the "fat skis" - check. Get to the Silver Fir lift early - check. Get in line early - check. Smile and chat with your riding person - check. Ski deep powder - check and double-check.

They received 8" overnight, and it was snowing for the 2 hours that I was skiing. The car received 4" of new during the 2 hours I was there. The steeper tree-lined lanes were just enjoyable. The Sunrise area was groomed, but the 8" of powder on top slowed down the skiers. It is still snowing, and the hope is that the mixed snow/rain arrives late Saturday!

I was there for a bit skiing with my nephew. We found amazing "side-pow" even in the afternoon. Triple-60 face delivered some thigh deep pockets among the trees. 5 inches new on car from 10:30 to 2:30
