January 11th 2018 Alpental

Third chair at Alpental with Silas at 9:40 -- lots of booms today and lots of fresh snow.  Bottom half of chair 1 it felt like snow/sleet mixture. 

Triggered several inbounds sluffs, even on moderate terrain. Poor bond to ice layer from last week, backcountry travelers take care next few days.

"Shot 5" provided some knee deep, snow over the head goodness.

Legs not up to snuff to ski a whole day at Alpental , I need to work on that.

It's okay, today's "whole day" was cut short anyway.

Raining at pass level now, NWAC says snow level rising to 5k overnight. Glad you got some while it was good!

It was really good, especially compared to today's water slide run (see my bc report).
