Toph and I made our annual same-day Seattle-Mt. Bachelor pilgrimage (thanks Alaska Airlines "Ski the West" promo!)
Surface conditions: 2" of pow on crust and deeper on northwest aspects thanks to wind transfer.
Atmospheric conditions: freezing fog. I spent most of my runs down defrosting my goggles.
We did make two uphill laps to work up an appetite for brews and grub in Bend. Mt Bachelor's uphill policy -- designated, marked routes -- is to be commended and something our Washington ski areas should follow.
Also, apologies to anyone we may have excited with false hopes when discussing an impending 10-20" winter storm warning in the lunch line. That was for the Washington Cascades, not Oregon. Sorry Beaver State. Pow days here we come!
