Rain at the base, but consistent snow all night above 5500'. I saw 5-7" over most of the mountain. Nothing was groomed, and with few riders not much was compacted. To start only ChEx and FQ were available, then Rex and GV opened after 10. Off piste was really fun, heavy pow to marshmallow-fluff on a carveable rain crust on spots like Grubstake and The Stash. Really grabby snow on anything low angle.
Other: Saw ddk yestiddy while I was buying AT boots after tele-ing for over 25 years. Tuesday Tacos at Snorting Elk were delicious, and we stayed at Alpine Inn. Nice room. Breakfast buffet was hearty enough but a bit steep. Pretty casual stroll to the lifts, hotel, and car!
