Another powder day with a few overnight and freshies all day. We arrived at the base a 7:30am so we could park on the first row, right across from the ticket area. It was a 50 foot walk to the gondola after going to Guest Services for our free Mountain Collective tickets. The gondola starts at 8am and takes you to the Upper Village where the lifts open at 9am. We saw a lot of kids and found out that it's also Spring Break in Alberta, Canada. Sunshine has 12 lifts of which 8 are express lifts. They have 137 trails and 72 were groomed. The terrain is BIG. We skied Goat's Eye Mountain which provides double diamond lines down into Eagle Basin (which we didn't try!). Lookout Mountain was our next area and is serviced by 3 express lifts from different angles and heights. There is also access to Delirium Dive where Special Restrictions Apply. From Goat's Eye Mountain I took photos of Delirium Dive and The Eagles. With some clouds and snow showers this terrain is scary. OK, the special ride is on the new Tee Pee Town Luxury Express quad. You can see it from afar because the chairs all have an “orange bubble” to protect you from the winds during the upper part of the ride. It also provides a look at the surrounding terrain. Next was Mount Standish with 2 express lifts and more steep short runs, plus blue and green trails. The WAWA quad has a set of black runs in tree lines, but is also the area for ski school. Next were the Wolverine Express and Jackrabbit quads for ski school, but also with varied terrain. Then to finish the day we skied down from the Village at 7082' to the gondola base at 5440' on a couple of different runs. This is a great resort with a wide variety of terrain for any style or ability of skier/rider.
