Short? (only) report – Arrived earlier than even normal, pleasant conditions early, by the time CHex started loading at this seasons weekend start time it was snowing pretty good (and apparently blowing just right at the top), Rex on hold for 15+ early and running pretty slow to start with, snowing pretty hard all morning, Lucky and MIFB were pleasant groomers early but got worse as they got skied, off piste was probably brutal (only did GV Bowl on one great vis cycle up Rex). Light crowd (end of season) no real lift lines noticed. Quality of some places I went mid day to early afternoon were improving with noticeable new, but it was also getting a little wetterish – not bad but…Saw some folks skiing nicely in Campbell Basin and others not skiing nicely, did PB which skied okay but the vis was kinda marginal when I did it. Never went to anything big or “fun” or what I usually like to do – brain felt kinda slow today. Finished the day with a run out SnortElk bowl to Kellys Gap to Lower E – all mostly good enough….
Other – CB lodge was a nice visit late morning, soup was Chicken Noodle – AGAIN! and it was very good…Pay lot was weekend big and late season empty, C pretty full, B maybe 2/3’s full…easy drive up and down, major Elk party at the new clear cut below Fed Forest. Fun skiing, not many weeks left (at Crystal anyway) for lift served skiing – will make the touring crowd happy since the snow pack is deeper (and will get deeper) then it has been all season….
