I planned to arrive at 11am for some spring conditions. The drive up on I-90 going east was like being in a wind tunnel with winds in the mid 40's. I parked at the base of the Alpine lift and before I got on, it stopped. Yes, the day was over for the lift. The Triple 60 lift was operating, and the Parachute and Triple 60 trails had spring conditions. Next, drive over to the Silver Fir lift. It was quiet and all the trails were in spring conditions. At 2pm you could see the storm heading our way from the east with dark clouds and a few snowflakes in the air. It was time to pack up and head down. So much for the first day of Spring...

It was more of a squall than a storm - some pretty snowflakes coming down for a short while, but quite inconsequential. Then more sun and cloud in alternation. It got softer and softer but never too soft except maybe a little grabby on a few flats at the bottom. It was great until closing bell!

I got up there for a skimo workout just as the lifts opened and it was teeth chattering ice at that time. Glad to hear it warmed up a bit later!
