Short – Nice day, new boot top around the mountain and way deeper in places, light quality, but the firm underneath was there early, light ski crowd (on REX anyway), lots of happy folks on the lifts I rode (REX mostly).
Long winded – Day started with a not to massive CHex lineup, sun shinning on the upper mountain, every thing looked nice and new and smooth….and it was in many places. Normal kinda hamster treadmill day – though I didn’t get as many PB runs as I really would have liked to…Ch 6 line was not massive, but past my tolerance level…so only a few PB that were happy, plus BP runs that I wish I had been first, but sloppy seconds were still pretty nice and deep (deepest I got today, bet a lot of folks got even bigger!). Stayed mostly on REX which had small lines that were even smaller in the singles line – which got me a lot of very interesting conversational rides with folks from everywhere, even Turkey (couldn’t figure out the language…so had to ask, which was a bigger bonus conversation). Lots of hamster vert spent mostly from BP’s to some Doors to a bunch of SunnySides - YYYYYAAAA! (just for JD, who always seems to be in my head when I go there). Pretty nice day, mostly sunny to filtered sun with snow squalls….telemetry made it look like a fair amount of snow during the day at the base and none on top – true!
Other – Crowds were massive at both Campbell B and the base when I passed through them. Both had Triple C for soup (Coconut, Chicken Curry..or is it …). Pay lot big and impressively close to full, rest of the lots full with F not totally but close. Ready now for tomorrow.

Got up really early after yesterday's chaos and got first bucket on the gondi at 8.35 am.
Crystal doing a great job with these early start.
Some warm up runs ( meh... didn't think the resort skied that well... hard surface underneath)and then PNWBrit( Banned) and I headed out into the side-country. I remembered my skins today which was good because it was absolutely spectacular snow. Great stability, cold, low density,no bottom, chest shots, heli- ski quality. We dropped DP and skinned back into the resort. Brit went to watch the Freeride comp with his wife so I went back and dropped it again.
Great to be back in the skin track away from people.
Was going to head out South but when I got there I found I had no tolerance for the line on 6 so I finished with some secret stashes out North where there was nobody and the snow was good.
Great day. FX looks good... might play hooky this week.

Great reports guys, as always..............I thought Crystal skied very well yesterday and will only get better, it's filled in if you know what I'm saying. My son the old Pro picked me up and we were on the chair by 8:50, I took the lead into the Pro Course and it looked great but as we now know, there was a bottom to it, OK so what cold snow, Vis, skiing with my son, new ski's, Gigawatts made for nothing smiles all day long, Run of the day (Spook untouched) and PB skier far right. Beer in the Elk and click of the glasses to say thank you for a day in the hills with this very good skier and great friend. Peter I love you and thanks for making my Birthday Ski a great one.

Skiing with your son is always special. Glad you had a good time.
I skied with my son the day before he departed to AK and it was very special.
Mine has just finally reached Haines after 10 days of driving from Seattle that involved a bad car crash totaling their truck and a broken arm for my son.
So relieved he and his new wife are OK and have finally arrived.
Now that the is finally in Haines he has to arrange cheap heli-skiing for me!!!!
