February 19, 2017 Anthony Lakes, 5” powder, free

The drive to Anthony Lakes from I-84 at North Powder, OR starts at 3200' and 19 miles later you are at 7100'. We try to ski here at least once each year on our trips to/from UT and CO. They have a triple that stops at 8000'. They have 21 trails plus a snow-cat operation. The backcountry terrain is large with great trees, bowls and a couple of steep chutes. The area is owned by the county and is a family friendly environment. We met locals on each triple ride and they told us about some great backcountry areas, like Angell Peak and Gunsight Mtn. The 5”of powder overnight made for a nice start to the day plus our free tickets for the 70 plus age group. You can park your RV and plug-in for free at the electric outlets, and walk 40 feet to get on the triple chair. The tickets are half price on Thursday for the younger folks. Jill rode the lift with some young guys who, after hearing about our trip in the campervan and asking about the new lift at Bachelor, said 'you're living the life!'. That's for sure.

Yes, the bathrooms. Yes, 2 Porta pottis at the same level as the lodge.  Ticket window is in a small cabin.
