Crystal - 01/25 Foggy Day was created by ddk
Good day all in all, kinda fuzzy up top a good part of the day, groomers all great all day, no crowds, no lift lines – especially no lines on REX or GV. GV Grubstake Trees, Grubstake and Ann’s runs low down very happy fun – probably 4/5 of the valley had very nice vis while the fog hung on top and over to the Queen. GV bowl right side down and MIFB very nice, as was Lucky (though the vis was worse on that side of the upper mountain). Did a number of runs with #1 on FQex – all very nice for folks that like that lift…but it was pretty cold in the grey. Telemetry seemed to have missed that it was snowing really hard late morning and the new was very noticeable. Beat myself up late morning on Grubstake – very happy hamster mode. Kept trying to meet up with telemack today – finally met at CB lodge around noon, nice but to short of a conversation…will try to get some turns in next time. Only skied the Valley, MIFB, Lucky and FQex runs…but did finish the day doing E – still good, but more effort to find that perfect line…bumps on lower E were just soft enough to make me really happy bouncing around in them. Lazy easy Coombas worked like a charm again today both on the groomed and off.
PS forgot to mention I ran into the one and only Silas at the bottom of Crystal on Monday…as usual hyper happy and I was glad to see him. Go Silas!
Other – Soup at CB lodge was at least Chicken Noodle (but do to some miscommunication I did not get the pleasure of a bowl). As noted no crowds, no lift lines, massive space for the pay lot and buses (7 buses), but as usual not many pay folks showed up (lots of room Scotsman, was your wife up?). No real cars parked below the A lot (some in B – but a lot of those might be employees). Nice work the muscles day.

Surprisingly, snow was not missing---forecast was for cloudy/flurries but it fell almost all day. Runs had an inch or so by midafternoon, and I found several inches in places on lower Grub and Snorting trees.
ddk, next time we'll turn'em down....
