A very light crowd today with more empty chairs than occupied. The base snow layer has firmed up since Sunday/Monday, but with a couple inches of new overnight and snowing all day, all the usual places skied well. And got better as the day went on. Some new terrain opened up today with the front side trails to Lucky Shot open and Door 2. Of all the doors, only Door 2. Coverage was adequate in there, but the snow was a little funky. Also, one gate to Breakover and one gate to Memorial Forest were open. Both skied great from the top to the road with the nod going to the cut up pow in Breakover. Below the road, there was a thin layer of crust under the new snow. It still skied OK, just took a lot more effort. When you hit the road, head to right to avoid the gully and drop in at the Breakover side of the tree line before hitting the REX chairline. Snow was the best for the rest of the way down and you miss the low coverage in the gully.
Visibility was a bit of a challenge at times today, particularly in GV bowl (which was really good skiing when you could see). With a forecasted break in the action tomorrow, conditions should be very nice.
