Big Day!...Lots of nice almost sunny conditions early, lots of great grooming (on the groomers I did – Lucky and ? hhhmmm), lots of great no lift lines (early season rush looks to be over now), lots of great packed easy (and growing) bumps in the Valley and off of Lucky Shot, lots of great rocks to dodge in all the typical places, lots of happy folks ( well not really that many folks, but everyone up today was happy), lots of new lift opp’s to abuse and get to know….all in all a very big nice day…my quads will be hurting! Was getting pretty grey and starting to snow when I quit. Mid afternoon MiddleIceFergBerg opened, very rocky entrance at the top, but nice the rest of the way. PB looked awesome all morning….when? Found out that FQex is getting a brake job at the top (reason that it has not opened yet?)…supposed to open at least by Wednesday. My AfterShock rock skis took some dings and one nice big core shot…oh well its probably their last season. Having to ski down the back side road to Lucky was a pain…only way down early….lots of obstacles to dodge (both human and rockish).
Other – Noticed that the soup at the base was that Tomato Bisque stuff (rumors of Chicken noodle by Friday…or maybe even Turkey soup this week – that would be good).
Got some benches in the men’s room now, but heard not in the womens…could get ugly when the bus’s start showing up.
Other other – Pay lot in mid season prime size….and equally empty as usual. Rest of A lot was full, C lot full, B lot maybe half full, cars in D and E….
All in all a way better than expected day. Gonna go take some IB to get ready for the big day tomorrow.
