More words than flowing alpy...but what would you expect from me...basic report it was a great day - quit reading now...its not worth it........Aaaahhhh Biiiggggg USA full price Dollars quality 100% day!..No wimpy 75% Canuck bucks today…Warm (hot?) from the starting gate (after getting out of the base area), soft, soft, soft almost everywhere…did to many LS and GV/MIFB runs early morning trying to carve up those nice groomers….around 10am dropped into SunnySide – oh my, untracked areas were sweet soft manck, go anywhere fast GS world…till lower below the hidden road when it just became nice soft easy go anywhere bumps – worth a repeat, but fading fast in the heat (should have gone there earlier). So around the late hour of 10:30 PB called…dang! skier left side center first run nice, BP’s for the follow up…still very happy for the COOMBA’S!, but earlier would have worked even better. At that point I sadly dropped into the Hamster zone…repeat, repeat, repeat – with the slight change of doing skier right side of the center spine! Heaven! Steep! Soft Happy!...how many times? Lordy fun…Always the goal was how bad the traverse from the bottom of REX to the bottom of FQex would be…not to sticky again…do it again…gotta say my treadmill brain gave out before the snow got to sticky. Bonus was the nice soft easy bumps on LS skier right side!...Love those bumps when they are like they were today. Around noon, busted out of the treadmill and expanded my world to GV bowl to Ann’s run (very nice), and then to the Bitc! – I mean Grubstake (just for the folks that didn’t show)…very nice even as late as I did it…more traffic would have made it the place to be…Finished the day with some lazy MIFB and LS bump runs. Was it fun? Duh!
Other – And yes there was soup again at CB lodge (just for me), not Chick Noodle, but the Triple C stuff with a extra glob of rice….very tasty – spent at least an hour during my PB frenzy enjoying it.
Other Other – Parking was typically crappy in the A lot…lots of wasted space (have never parked that far back this late in the season), a few cars strung out towards the C lot.
No lift lines, no crowds, lots of sun, lots of views, lots of happy “not” sticky snow…dang what a great big full priced dollar day! Only 9 days left not hiking at Crystal…but then there is Blackcomb…
