BBBbbbbbRRRRrrrrrrr……If today was a transition day from cold to warm…someone forgot to tell the Crystal weather Gods…Felt cold, breezy from the North, foggy mostly anywhere that would have been the preferred places to go (PB and GV Bowl – never looked good enough to ski the brail). Big fat left over belly from Sunday socials and a very slow moving brain meant most of my short lazy day was a lot of LS runs (good grooming, plus the new snow made for some nice soft turns) with more pokes around the edges as my brain started working….One of the Doors (okay), OuterFerks a couple of times (must have been good enough to repeat), Lucky Shot Trees (some nice untracked deep soft, plus leftovers). But the very consistent foggy vis just never completely went away – moments of goodness (MIFB was pretty nice late morning and early afternoon since not many folks had skied it – still nice smooth grooming). Great vis on the front side of REX pretty much all day, some folks made it look doable, lots of others did not, I cant give a first hand report. Very light crowd, no lift lines. Was quitting kinda early and saw an empty Gondy bucket calling – first ride on it since mid December…lots of pacing around room in it…kinda pleasant I gotta say on a cold day…but probably not worth the extra T2B run.
Other – Big bonus at CB lodge was Chicken Noodle…yee haaa (they also had Tomato Bisque…two soups on the same day). Didn’t feel like much heat blowing in the CB lodge – almost as cold as out side…been a lot of days this season where that has been the situation. Parking in the A lot was pretty typical (to much pay lot wasted space), not many folks parked below the bottom of the A lot. Had fun, practiced some of my marginal snow quality skiing skills – or at least my turn NOW or else skiing skills….Coombas probably had more fun than I did. Looking forward to all the big hot sunny spring days the rest of this week.
