Crystal - 03/25

Gotta say No Marketing envolved…It was a Great Big Bonus Late Season Power Day at Crystal…Just good enough vis in the right places early (right places? Early Doors and Sunnyside with many repeated untracked BP runs!!!), one to early PB run when the vis was not primo…but mid day into the afternoon – ouch nice in PB and the runs I did on the front side of REX (mostly Doors still). Pretty intense Hamster day – never strayed farther north than GV Bowl and MIFB or farther south than PB into BP (or LS high speed). What sun and heat happened did kinda mank some of the groomer areas down low that I skied. No crowds, no lift lines…season is definitely over when that happens on a BIG powder day.

Other – Big day at CB lodge…soup was Chicken Noodle and I got an extra BIG bowl – and it was very very good. Parking pretty typical in the A lot today…but the crowd (?) overflowed and filled a big part of C and B had cars past the cattle car load zone…so there must have been a fair crowd….folks did do a good job of cutting up everything in the core Hamster zone….But out towards the King – it looked happy plenty of untracked.
Great day, Great Big Day, not many left…looking forward to a really BIG (hopefully) sunny hot day tomorrow.

Started with everything good - boot-top to shin deep untracked - but you had to get it quickly as the fog/sun interface moved around every couple minutes. When the fog left mid-day, the sunny aspects instantly turned to thick junk. But, the well shaded snow remained perfect till the end as it skied out. Will not be pleasant tomorrow morning on anything that got sun this afternoon.

I heard more than one ecstatic skier say it was perhaps the best day of their ski year and these were retirees with season passes. My hamster tracks were all on chair 6 tho heard NW was fantastic. The snow quality in Campbell in the morning and north faces in Abasin and the King was exquisite. Vis could have been better but the fog kept the snow cool.
