Late report do to skiing longer and later than I have in a long time (plus needing to do a Nice social walk with #1 when I got home)….Anyway it was a Pretty Nice day, not as Nice as hoped for, more ridge top wind, less blue sky early (more nice sun mid day and late), maybe a few more folks on the slopes, very Nice LS screamer groomers early (and it actually held up very Nicely all day), MIFB not so perfect early grooming – but got better (I think…trying to remember when I last did it), PB early was a little firm and lumpy….So decided to get my monthly trip out North over with…Paradise via gate 4 (?) – okay enough, Autobahn groomer via that route was left over groomed wall to wall from yesterday…and very smooth and Nice. Bumped into Colin (lift opp…great snowboarder…I have to admit that it happens…Alpy folks? Ready to chime in?), had a nice ride on the massively long NW chair and an okay run down Bruce’s (past its prime in some ways)….Headed back to the core Hamster zone and spent the rest of the day cycling PB/LS…PB – primo wind blown smooth down the center top ¾ and good enough packed bumps at the bottom…with the big high speed carving screamer LS runs (down the edges, staying away from the mass of humans in the middle). Cant remember how many times I did PB today, but it sucked me back many times and a number of times when it was supposed to be my last run…Lots of big fun, definitely the best snow I enjoyed all day. GV bowl was nice also (dodging the lumps that rolled in from the overnight grooming).
Other – Soup at CB lodge was…..Lordy Oh My! Chicken Noodle again (left over or a new bag… it was a very good bonus for the day). No lift lines noticed all day (other than a little cluster around FQex at times), Parking typical in the A lot (not many pay folks), cars filling a lot of C lot and a fair number in B…so there was a fair crowd on the mountain. Winds big on the ridge tops, but down low (FQex) it was pretty warm and pleasant. Very Nice day…duh!
